Patrick Phillips / Brass

Mr. Phillips has lived in Brevard County for over 10 years. He served as Director of Instrumental Music at Satellite High School from 2013-2023. During that time his ensembles received notoriety at the State and National level. He left the classroom to spend more time with his two daughters and to devote more time to performing and teaching private lessons. Mr. Phillips studied horn at Florida State University with Michele Stebleton and had part-time studies with David Cripps, James Wilson, J.D. Shaw, and Benjamin Lieser. He has also developed and taught brass pedagogy for Phantom Regiment and Spirit of Atlanta under the leadership of Freddy Martin. He studied jazz styles and improvisation with David Detweiler, Scotty Barnhart, and Leon Anderson. His students have made All-County and All-State, won DCI World Championships, and gone on to some of the most prestigious schools and conservatories in the country.
